SLOCEA Appoints Two New Stewards

Growing Our Steward Team

At the June 19th Board of Directors meeting, two SLOCEA members were appointed to serve on the Steward Committee.

Chelsea Cutler is a Library Associate III at the SLO Library branch and has worked for the County since May 2022. Last month SLOCEA staff held a lunch site visit at the SLO Library. We made our usual presentation and talked about the role Stewards play and how we could use one at the SLO branch. At the end of the lunch Chelsea said she would be interested in learning more and was enthusiastic about serving as a Steward. We now have two Stewards for the Library department and are excited to have Chelsea on our team!

Haleigh Hayes is a Public Health Nurse I for Public Health in San Luis Obispo and has worked for the County since May 2023. Haleigh attended SLOCEA’s General Membership meeting in October 2023 and two days later contacted our office with an interest in serving as a Steward. Haleigh saw that there were only two Stewards serving Public Health and was eager to get involved. We had to wait until Haleigh hit the one-year mark in membership and she was appointed shortly after her 1-year County anniversary. We are so happy to have Haleigh as a Steward!
