SLOCEA Endorsed Candidates Elected to Office

On June 7, 2022, Americans throughout California participated in this year’s primary elections. Among the many issues on the ballot to be decided by voters, were the questions of which candidates are worthy to serve on the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors, for districts 2,3 and 4?

At press time, the unofficial results already seem to answer these questions.

On behalf of SLOCEA and its members, I’m pleased to congratulate SLOCEA endorsed candidates, Don Ortiz-Legg (District 3), and Jimmy Paulding (District 4), who were both well on their way to being elected to the respective districts. Congratulations also to supervisor Bruce Gibson (District 2), who was way ahead in his reelection bid at 50% of the vote. His nearest competitor only had 18.28% in a field of four candidates. Should Mr. Gibson be required to face-off with an opponent in a November runoff election, SLOCEA is confident that he will prevail.

SLOCEA’s Political Action Committee (SLO-PAC) is appreciative to all three candidates for the generosity of their time in participating in our endorsement process. The three received the unanimous recommendation of SLO-PAC, as well as the unanimous endorsement of the Association’s Board of Directors.

On behalf of the Association, I would also like to convey our gratitude to all the members who supported our endorsed candidates with their contributions of funds, time, and of course, their sacred votes. We are very confident that the best candidates for our County and our membership, will be sworn into office in January 2023.

God Bless!
